What do I get for my brother in law who just became a US citizen?

I want to get a gift for my brother-in-law who just became a US citizen. My sister is throwing him a party, but we cannot attend. I want to send him a gift to show how proud we are of him.

Something fun Maybe a sort of "Welcome to America" gift basket would be nice. Maybe put somethings in it that are quintessential American, a pack of ballpark hotdogs, an little American flag, a stuffed animal with some sort of American clothing on it, a certificate that says a donation has been made in his name to a truly American charity (not totally american just nice), potato chips, tickets to a baseball game. Maybe put it all in a picnic basket.

There are a lot of cool things you could put in it i'm sure since you know him you could think of things that would mean a lot to him.

I've had two occasions to buy gifts for new US citizens! First, for one of my dear friends. I bought her something "americana" for her house.

I believe it was a plant in a pot that had the American flag on it. Then, when my mom (finally! ) became a citizen, I bought her a nice leather cover for her new US passport, because she had all sorts of travel plans!

Got the best ever gift for our friend who became a new citizen; gave her a "Deed to the United States" which entitled her to own land in all 50 states of the USA. It was a symbollic gesture because the deed gave ownership of one square INCH of land in each state...but it was for real. Deed had her name on it, individually numbered and came with a booklet showing where each piece of land was exactly in each state.
