I've never heard of Rumi and I don't agree with creating or adhering to sects in Islam. That's discouraged in the Quran, we are told to be one community. That's my opinion on Sufism and all sects but that doesn't reflect the opinions of the majority of Muslims.
Most Muslims are either Sunni or Shia, not Sufi so they don't usually agree with the views of Sufis. I think that many Muslims think that Sufism is a little out there but it's probably due to a lack of knowledge of what it is that Sufis believe in and do exactly, they seem to differ from the majority of Muslim and from mainstream Islam. But they are not admired by the majority of Muslims (that doesn't mean that they're hated either).
If you want more answers from Muslims ask this in the Society & Cultures > Holidays > Ramadan section since many Muslims hang out there. More.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
