Take me out of this cave I really was not much of an outdoor person, but after three years and recovering from a head injury, I didn't have a chance. I would like to connect with nature again. I think now it's a good time to drive to the desert and try all the different types of water temperatures in the pools.
I know that I soon will be able to walk in the mountains and listen to the sound of the running brooks and the clear blue water coming down the fall. I want spread my wings, and be free as the birds. I'm thankful that my life is getting better..
Love the outdoors I get my love of nature and the outdoors, especially gardening, from my father and grandfather. They had the greenest of thumbs. Nature calms me, grounds me, reminds me there is something bigger in the world than just me and that goes for problems too.
I'm one small speck compared to all the world, sky, etc. Besides enjoying being out in the fresh air there's something about putting seeds or plants in the ground and nuturing them and being rewarded with bursts of color and then butterflies and bees coming for nectar and eventually birds when the flowerheads go to seed. It is a continuing and renewing of the life cycle. Even in winter, the dried flowers stand in the snow waiting for the spring when I can get out there and start the cycle again.
I hope this doesn't sound silly but that's where my connection with nature takes me -- outside of myself and my problems and worries. It has been below zero here a couple of nights and that was hard to take because being outside was so uncomfortable. I will say though despite being that cold, the sky was clear and the stars amazing.
