My in laws are celebrating their 55 years together and my hubby and I are trying to figure out what to get them. Do any of you have any ideas? Asked by Dana_L 47 months ago Similar questions: couple celebrating 55th wedding anniversary Lifestyle > Anniversaries.

55th anniversary Wife and I will soon celebrate our 54th. On our 50th, my daughter gathered up all the photos from when we were young until the present. She had them put on a DVD as a slide show.
They included so many memories of all the members of the family and events that spanned 35 years or more. Older people love those memories and will cherish it the rest of their life even if someone else has to play them for them . Wish We could be there to see their smiling faces while they watch.
Let each pictures show for 5-10 seconds. God Bless .
This is what I did for my in laws' 55th... my husband and I bought them a beautiful set of new sheets and pillowcases, and matching pajamas. My reasoning was that since they've been together for so many years, beautiful bedding is usually something that sort of falls by the wayside, and you don't miss it because you don't realize how luxurious new, GOOD sheets look like, and feel like. Also, the family is comfortable giving these sort of personal items to one another, so it was a good choice for them.
We bought them a queen sized fitted and flat sheet and matching pillowcases by Ralph Lauren. It's delicious cotton, and if you look for it to say "sateen" then the quality is nothing less than magical, lol. We spent about $125.
The pajamas were from a wonderful company called pajamagram.com" rel="nofollow">pajamagram.com. I have placed many orders since theirs and couldn't be happier with their products and the way their gifts arrived, packaged. Happy 55th to your in laws!
I hope you find them something wonderful. Good in laws are such a blessing. Check out Ralph Lauren's winter sale RalphLauren.com this is what we bought them and pajamagram.com" rel="nofollow">pajamagram.com Pajamas from PajamaGram: Unique Gift Ideas for Women - Pajamas for Mother's Day, Valentines Day Gifts for their cute matching sets These are NOT my in laws, LOL, although I'm sure they wish it were :-) .
Personalize My husband's grandparents recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. I think the most thoughtful gifts were the ones that were personalized. They received a set of wine glasses that had their names and the year they got married etched on them.
There was a porcelain collector's plate with a poem and their names on it. I think something like that might be just the ticket. Here's a couple of websites to help you get started: personalcreations.com/home.asp agiftpersonalized.com/gifts-for-annivers... personalizationmall.com/Store.aspx?store... .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
