Of the three I like the Emmys because it covers TV and Movies and so it is not so snooty. I love ceremonies and tradition though. I grew up watching Miss America every year and the Wizard of Oz ( pre-video cassettetape recorders this movie came on once a year ).
So, this is how I would order them with these other ceremonial events: 1. Miss America 2. Presidential inaugerations 3.
Opening ceremonies at the Olympics 4. Groundhogs Day - Punxatawny Phil 5. My annual visit to the dentist 6.
The Emmys 7. The Oscars 8. The Grammys.
I don't like any of the them my self. I'm not in to the Pop Culture|pop culture enough to know what is really going on. Oh and I have a very strange taste in movies and music.
I will take the Grammy Awards|Grammy's over the other two any day. I also love the American Music Awards|AMA's and the Country Music Association Awards|CMA's. Just a music junkie!
Although I agree that the musical numbers are definitely better on the Grammy's I think that those are comparing Apple Fruit|apples and oranges. The Grammy's had better win the musical numbers or they are gonna have to find other jobs. I still like the emmys slightly better than the Oscars only because its a little more laid back and all the actors seem to let their guards down a bit and its more personable.
But of course the Oscars are on the higher echalon. The Emmys are a import beer, the Oscars are a nice merlot, and the Grammy's are a shot of Whisky|whiskey.
If I had to choose, I'd go with the Oscars. I don't find the quality of music translates well from the Grammy stage through to my speakers - it's not quite as bad as listening to a televised marching band in a passing parade, but it can be pretty awful. Of course, they could lip synch, which brings up the sound quality but has its own problems.
The Oscars have the long tradition, the ceremony, and the gravity. Even though they're all industry awards, that one is the one that I perceive would be most valued on someone's mantelpiece of the three choices.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
