All of our current immigration laws are based on the blatantly racist "Chinese exclusion act" of 1875 - before that, you just came and became a citizen after 2 years. That was before too many non-white people came.
Wrong-o. When Ronald Reagan ran in 1980, the GOP made abortion a big issue. That is, it was a big issue during the campaign (and every campaign since!) but after the election it was conveniently forgotten.
Reagan didn't promise (like Trump might) to simply end abortion by executive order. He said he'd push for a constitutional amendment to declare the pre-born 'human beings' so abortion would be equivalent to murder. But once in office he didn't even try!
He knew how hard that would be, how unpopular it would be. He wasn't going to waste any of his hard-won political capital on such a dumb idea. Trump is doing the same thing with 'birthright citizenship'.
He says he'll change it but he doesn't say how. In fact it would take a constitutional amendment which would be virtually impossible to get passed. If we're stupid enough to believe him, we deserve what we get!
Luckily, as a country we're not that stupid.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
