What do you think of omitting the word "obey" from the wedding vows?

In most cases, the word "obey" is omitted and that is a fantastic development. I believe there was a time when that word was only included in the woman's vows in some sectors. Thankfully, that is something in the distant past.

A great idea. Marriage isnt about obeying; it's about loving and working together for the greater good of the family. I wouldn't marry if one of the requirements is to obey my husband.

I would rather do things lovingly for him without him asking for it instead of receiving an order or command.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
