That's nonsense Of courst that is complete nonsense. Religion and science are two different worlds, and cannot be compared. Religion is always based on 'faith', and penalizes anyone who 'does not believe' and who wants to investigate.

Religion is based on things that cannot (and according to its followers should not) be proven. If it could be proven, it wouldn't be 'faith' any more, would it? Science, and therefore also evolutionary theory is the exact opposite.

There is no room for 'faith' in science, and questioning the premises of the science are encouraged. Science always seeks to prove or disprove its statements, and aims are improving knowledge in order to also improve our understanding of our world. It also recognizes that "we don't know all", but aims at expanding that knowledge. So, no, Religion and science are totally different, and 'evolution theory' should not be seen as the religion of atheists.

As a side-note, the Roman Catholic church is recently relatively positive towards the evolution theory, although:"Today, the official Church's position remains a focus of controversy and is fairly non-specific, stating only that faith and scientific findings regarding human evolution are not in conflict, though humans are regarded as a "special creation", and that the existence of God is required to explain the spiritual component of human origins. If you truthful you just admitted your not an atheist, God is alive and real, OK lets keep going, any country that has any place where you would like to live in, the basis for the laws of that place is The Ten Commandments, any country that has kicked God out is not a safe place to live or even visit. Last, if you took all the materials, raw and put them into a container and got lightning to strike it would that produce say a 747 Jumbo Jet, or must someone "design" and make it OK if not a Jumbo Jet how does not know someone "designed" this world and you? Lets face it God's Holy Bible and The Way He says it is just makes the better way of seeing how we all got here "if" one will just investigate.

I think that it's legitimate to say that scientists not working in a directly relevant field take a faith-based ... ... attitude toward evolution, their faith being in the reliability of other scientists and being prompted by their experiences with the disinterestedness that is a basic characteristic of the scientific community -- because they don't have time to do all the relevant research, or even keep up with all the relevant studies, themselves; but I wouldn't go so far as to call evolution anyone's religion, in the sense of defining their worldview(*), and I don't see why atheists would be singled out -- there are plenty of scientists who believe in, say the Abrahamic monotheistic God as a matter of faith and daily connection to their community but don't involve that faith, either positively or negatively, in their daily work (although it might affect what research program they are motivated to pursue -- for instance, they might avoid weapons research if their religious faith is based on a peace-and-social-justice interpretation of Christian Scripture). After all, evolution is just one scientific hypothesis (although one apparently extremely well supported); it has no bearing on some other fields, so it cann0ot support a worldview. (*) as used in the presuppositional apologetics of, say, Van Til and Bahnsen .

I agree! Religion is something we do. We get up in the morning and brush our teeth, this is a religious effort.

We do it because we believe it's what we should do, due to something we learned. Okay, Athe-ism, the belief that there is no Deity, no GOD, is a belief system, a religion and what ever we believe, we then act according to it. It effects our thought process, our value system, our morals, our words, our actions, our effect on the world for good and bad.

There is certainly a secular belief system that tends to incorporate Atheism and uses Science, not only to discover but to tear down and destroy other religions, especially Judeo Christianity.
