I think we will see a combination of things, but Florida/Michigan won't be allowed in outright. First of all, I must say that I would be shocked if Florida/Michigan delegates were allowed in outright. Why?
Because Obama wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan, and decided not to campaign in Florida since the delegates weren't going to count. You just cannot go back in time and re-instate the delegates like that. It would be like if a ref blows a play dead with his whistle during a football game, and the defense stops.
You cannot go back and award a touchdown if they only got it because the defense stopped. If Obama did not campaing, how can you give That would be an absolute travesty. The only option as pretaining to the Michigan/Florida delegates would be an entire re do.
If you are going to count them, you have to let the people have a chance to vote again with Obama on the ballot this time. This scenario is unlikely, but has been mentioned. Michigan in particular was kicking around the idea of holding a caucus.
However, I think the most likely thing pretaining to the delegate-barred states (Florida, Michigan) is that it stays as is and we don't see anything change there. Beyond that, it is clear the superdelegates can agree to move. This is smart politically for the party because they really don't want to piss the party off.
If Obama emerges (or vise versa) with more popular votes nationwide than but llary hypothetically only wins because of superdelegates, I would be willing to bet good money that those llary superdelegates (or at least most of them) switch over to avoid an embarsement to the party. Another scenario we could see (which I think is embarssing but noentheless is very real possibility) is that everything comes down to Peurto Rico. People forget that Puerto Rico, even thought they are not a state, are a US territory that get delegates for primaries.
They vote very late and if its razor thin coming into that, that could put one of them over the edge. Could you imagine that? Sources: personal opinon .
Cool Heads will prevail. I think that at some point soon, cooler heads will prevail. Some say that Al Gore has stayed and is staying neutral so that he will be in a position to sit down with the parties and work out a plan, possibly a compromise, that is acceptable to both candidate camps.
The current "scorched earth" policy just isn't going to work. The goal of both candidates is to win an election this November. Its in the bag for the Democratic candidate after 8 years of Bush, unless they blow it.At the rate they're going, each could make it unwinnable for the other.
From all accounts, it appears things may remain close for some time, and the Democratic Convention isn't until August. So there would only be the period from August to November to campaign. The Republicans are already uniting behind their candidate, so its becoming imperative that Democrats clean up their act soon.
The big issues are how they are going to go about campaigning against one another without destroying it for the other in November, how the Michigan and Florida delegations are going to be seated in a manner which both campaigns are willing to live with as being fair and equitable, and what the role of super delegates is going to be, again, making sure they act in a manner than will be seen as fair and equitable. They don't need it looking like someone won the nomination in a manner tainted with impropriety. The nomination can't look like the 2000 election.
And I'm sure I'm not the only one having these thoughts. I would expect cooler heads will soon prevail..
Two possibilities! I think there are two possibilities. 1) llary loses either Texas or Ohio or both of them and then concedes.
I think this is possible. 2) If llary wins both Ohio and Texas and she decides to stay in the race, I think to prevent a mess in convention Howard Dean will pursue Florida and Michigan to hold caucuses. I think it is very important for Democrats that they unite against Republicans sooner.
This is why they should resolve this issue as soon as possible. I think because obama has gained A LOT of momentum if llary loses either Texas or Ohio she will concede. The reason is that almost everything is in Obama's favor.
He gained support among Latinos, women, senior citizens, middle class, and those are where llary's advantage has always been. Obama has raised much more money than llary in January and February. She was forced to lend her campaign $5 million!
This is another advantage of him. When she considers all the above points I think she will realize that she won't be able to run nomination. (if she loses Texas or Ohio).
The fact is that it is very unlikely that super-delegates overturn the will of people. Considering all Obama's support and unpopularity of llary among independents and Republicans it is very likely that super-delegates overturn the vote of pledged delegates. Since if that happens Democrats might end up losing election.

Lol! .
They will do what they use to do at Party Conventions. That is actually choose a candidate. There will be back room deals, late meetings & all kinds of distractions from the week long party.
I believe that's called a brokered convention. People will switch their votes in exchange for certain concessions - like the VP slot, political appointments, cabinet secretaries, judgeships, ambassador positions, & what-not, Friends & alliances will be made as well as enemies. These superdelegates are just that, Superdelegates, owe no loyalty to anyone or anything.
They function the same as the Electoral College.
1 Well I heard the other day that they want to now allow the delegates from Michigan and Florida which is the exact opposite of what they passed (a bill allowing against those very same delegates). I thought that was pretty funny and ridiculous. They shot themselves in the foot with that one.
I definitely think it will come down to superdelegates and if so, llary may get the majority of those because of her close ties to republicans and old dems in washington D.C.

How can I become a delegate to the California state convention.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
