What does a missionary do?

To faithfully live as a follower of Jesus and make disciples as Jesus commanded his disciples to do before he ascended into heaven Spreading the gospel of Jesus to everyone with a thankful heart The question is how to define "missionary. " The examples above clearly take the most literal definition, that of one who visits a foreign place and spends all his or her time proactively and transitively coaxing people into being baptized. But there are so many other types of missionaries, so I find it best to see the phrase "missionary" as "consecrated volunteer clergy."

Was Mother Theresa a missionary? Of course, but she was not the evangelical type rather she was, but she just thought taking care of people physically was a precursor to discussing abstract concepts with them on any profound level. Did the Hawaiian or African missionaries spend all their time preaching, or were they successful precisely because their model involved living among the people for decades, building groundwork as they raised money to build their churches?

In other words, it varies extremely. In Texas, I spent a good portion of each day visiting members, building rapport with them so they would feel comfortable referring their friends who were having problems to me. We spent some of most days knocking on doors; and some of each day visiting inactive members of the church.

One afternoon a week generally we'd spend volunteering at a hospital or reading books to kids at the library My parents, on the other hand, went to Albania. There my father was assigned to church leadership roles in developing congregations while my mother orchestrated the building of orphanages, developed a national tooth care training program for kids, and planned neonatal resuscitation training for the med schools. They are very blue collar printers and have no background in any of the above!

So a missionary is anyone who is actively building the kingdom of God, especially those who, on a regular and scheduled basis work to that end, being notably or visibly set apart from the population and therefore holding themselves forth by that population as such. I.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
