What does Median Mean in Math?

Median is a number in a list that appears in the center of the list. Half of the numbers are larger than it and half of them are smaller.

Let's define each of the words and give an example. Consider the set of numbers 80, 90, 90, 100, 85, 90. Math grades, for example.

Many there are: (80 + 90 + 90 + 100 + 85 + 90) / 6 = 89 1/6. The MEDIAN is the number in the middle. Between these two, or it is 90.

The MODE is the value that occurs most often.
