What does the number to the right of a hub's title mean or indicate? This is my very first day on Hubpages, and I just did my first hub?

The number is your hub score for that hub...it will be around 50 or slightly below at the beginning of your publication of the hub, but goes up as people read it. However, it may go down for the first few page views, but be patient, it will soon be higher. By commenting on other's hubs, and reading as many as you can, often, it will help others go to your hubs and read them.

We all help each other.

Everything that Marisue said, but if you start a hub and don't finish/publish it for a day or two (or even longer), its score will go up even before it's published simply because the "age" of a hub begins the minute you start writing/assembling it. Which doesn't mean leaving it unpublished until it hits 90 or so. It won't ever get that high unpublished.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
