What electronics is the iPad competing against this holiday season?

Although Apple is a tablet, but it can be used for several purposes and hence for holiday season, iPad was competing against many devices. IPad can easily be used as an ebook reader, and hence it was pitted against Kindle, Nook and Sony Reader. IPad can also be used for gaming purpose and provides a good alternative against handheld game consoles such as Gameboy, PSP and Nintendo DS.

IPad has also caused negative impact on the sale of netbooks and thus we can say that the Apple tablet also competed against netbooks for making it to your holiday gift list. The main advantage of iPad is that it is a multipurpose device and thus makes more sense than buying individual dedicated devices such as ebook readers or handheld gaming devices.
