I've gone a mole on my head behind my ear and while it sometimes causes my barber to have to be careful to avoid nicking it when trimming, it's no problem. A dermatologist looked at it (and some others on my body) and said that removing them would just be a matter of esthetics, not health, so I haven't bothered. I have occasionally tweezed hairs from moles.

However, treating moles with hair-removal products, prolonged direct sunlight, or cutting them, might 'awake' them and make them start developping an active state.
