Jimi used a vox wah wah pedal- not sure if he later used a 'cry baby'. He also used a maestro fuzz box & later an arbiter 'fuzz face' which I believe Roger mayer built for him (about 17 in all! ).
Added to this was the octavia pedal which for example he used on 'purple haze' & later on the univox 'univibe' which was like a modern day chorus pedal. Hope this is of some help to you & helps you to sound like Jimi! All the best, 'wilbury Steve.
I play a sweet Voodoo Chile but I'm having difficulties getting the right sound...Thanks for the answer!
I own the Dunlop JH-1 Wah Pedal that reproduces Hendrix sound for certain songs! But Jimi's sound goes further then just the one Wah Pedal. As Steve mentioned below is correct.
But do you really want to know about his sound and how to reproduce it all? S sound did change over the years using allot more equipment then what people would think. Here is a great page of what he used.
jimihendrix.dk/index.php?lang=en&paThe best thing I have found to actually reproduce most of his sound in todays day and age is using a Line 6 PODxt or X3. For the Amps Cabinets and effects that is used. I use two wah pedals depending on what sound I am looking for.
The FBV Short board has several Wah pedals inside the PODxt you can use. And years ago when I had my fender strat I bought the JH-1 wah. That was all I needed to reproduce his sound.
Going after a vintage sound like Jimi's is going to cost you allot of money if you plan on buying it all separately. Line 6 has put together most of what he uses all in one single amp. Like the Vetta II Head.
Check that out also and save a few thousand! Lol!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
