The dancing duo's split comes one month after their Broadway debut in "Burn the Floor," a summer stint that required the couple to perform eight shows a week.

Signs of their faltering relationship nearing an end were evident in July when the couple put their nuptials on hold in order to meet work commitments. Viewers can expect to see awkward tension between the exes when they reunite on the dance floor for the season premiere of "Dancing with the Stars" on Sept. 21.
