I think you need to speak to you husband about this and get him to have a word with them. Alternatively, you could speak to them yourself. I get the feeling that they are just protective over their son and are a bit scared of losing him even though your intentions are not like that.

I just think you need to stand up for yourself and let your in laws know what your good enough for their son and will not be walked over. Alternatively, you and your fiance could move out and look for a place of your own.
