A birth doula is a person who provides all kind of support for a mom to prepare her for childbirth. A doula gives emotional support, has lots of information about pregnancy, can be a spiritual companion, and even can be a health care advocate in health-care situations. Many people find that having a doula gives them additional support and info they need to help make the birthing process easier.
But you don't have to limit a doula's experience to just birth. Many doulas offer support before and after birth. That's especially helpful for women who need to go on bed rest for a significant amount of time before birth (the doula takes care of tangible needs, but also helps mom emotionally during this difficult time).
A doula doesn't take the place of a husband or partner, so don't feel like you're trampling on his territory if you would like to use one. It's just that women often feel that it's extremely helpful to have another woman who's been through similar experiences to provide additional informational and emotional support. In the context of emotional issues, having a doula may be one of the best answers there is to reducing stress, anxiety, and depression.
Just be sure you find one who's compatible with your philosophies. Plus, it's not a bad idea to make sure your doctor and doula have met or worked together before your delivery to make sure they're comfortable with each other (you want them working as a team, not rivals). Find one in your area by going to www.dona.org.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
