What is a Syllable?

Words are made up of syllables. It is one or more letters that work together to represent a sound used to pronounce the word. In the dictionary you will find words separated by dots.

Each of these separated sections of the word is a syllable. For example, syllable is separated into 3 different syllables. SYL*LA*BLE.
