What is air resistance and does it differs going up and down the earth and is there any resistance of gravity?

There exists a resistance force or drag force when any object moves through air or any other fluid. This force acts in direction opposite to the direction of the motion. This drag force depends upon the shape of the object, speed, and fluid properties.
