1 mrprogguy, regarding your answer "AJAX errors mean that communications between your web browser and the web host are failing":Thanks! It sounds like you really know your stuff. I am using internet explorer.
They were probably doing maintenance or something. How many insomniacs did they expect to be roaming around askville in the middle of the night? .
Poppet! Said: 2 Actually, they seem to happen both day and night here, Judi! They are still working out all the bugs out of Askville.
3 Thanks, Judi! I've been a software developer for over 20 years, a web developer for 8 years, and an AJAX developer for as long as it's been around. I know that Askville uses some pretty decent AJAX scripting tools, but as you might expect, everything has to be *just right* for anything on the Web to work!
I keep getting that message when I try to answer a question on askville. What is an ajax error? I keep getting that message when I try to answer a question on askville.
AJAX stands for "Asynchronous Javascript And XML." It's a technology which allows web browsers to use scripted-language programs to send requests to a web host without reloading an entire web page. When you see an "AJAX error" it means that some part of the communications has broken down.
The only part of this situation that you can affect involves making sure any local firewall or firewall software running on your computer allows outgoing requests from the web browser on non-standard ports. It would help to know which browser you're using.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
