To find your averages, go to My Askville, then to History and look on the left hand column. Why, no special reason, just curious. Is anyone at 20% or higher for BEST answer?

Respectable Percentages HI, We had a question simlar to this that I asked recently, and if I remember several people had percentages that were simlar to where mine are at. I am at 26% for best answers. I am at 22% for great and 58% for good.
I would says that from what I saw in the last question that any percentage around 20% for best answers is very respectable just my opinion jamie Sources: personal opinion .
My thoughts With a maximum of 5 answers per question, I'd have to say that if you're higher than 20%, you're beating the curve. Especially if you consider the advantage that the first responder has with the tie-breaker. Because of this advantage, and because of the nature of the Default Okay system, I think if you are above an 80% Good/Great combined, then you're posting some quality responses.

I'm answering because I want to see what others have said. My statistics are Great 39%, Good 27% and Best Answer 42%. But I have a bit of an advantage because when I had a "real" job I answered questions for the general public (I was a museum curator).
I also now have lots of time to do this because I am stuck in the house due to surgery and due to caring for a disabled husband. I try to figure why the person is asking and give them a concrete answer with sources in case they want to dig deeper. Much of the time that seems to be what they need.
I find that a lot of askers never come back to vote so my Okay levels are at 33%. I don’t mind so much if someone doesn’t like my answer or if someone else has a better one, but I really dislike those who "ask and run. " My consolation is that even on answers rated as Okay I learned something new.
And in our house one of the big rules is that you need to learn one new thing before lunch everyday. I've found a few trophies to pass around and some stuff to keep them shiny - everybody gets to keep one for a while and then pass it on. Have to admit I am spending a little too much time on this. I am starting to limit myself to one or two answers a day. Most of my answers are getting rather long.
Another way I keep the percentage up is to only answer questions I can answer well. But the results of the work I put into the answers is showing... Great (18) 28% Good (36) 56% Okay (8) 12% Weak (2) 3% (and I do not agree with a couple of those! ) Best Answer (19) 30% Loading... I wonder what the best percentage is?
I agree with Ilo that this could be even a better competition metric than numbers of coins or experience points. Maybe if a few of us make suggestions to that effect! Andrew .
Evidence.... a good answer should be like any typical thesis essay.... the more evidence the better. If it is a matter of opinion, then make the reader able to understand your point of view or means by which you made your conclusion. On occasion, facts with sources and statistics are always great!
Sources should always be reputable... I.e. When talking about history or science or polotics, non-byist sources are important. Britannica>wikipedia .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
