What is going to become of the 90 white doves released at the sesquicentennial celebration?

Actually, those were homing pigeons that were released at the celebration Sept. 19 at Sesquicentennial Point. They belonged to Jerry Anderson, of Berryton, who operates White Dove Co.

He said all but four of the pigeons made it home safely after about two hours of flying. Four opted instead to land at Wakarusa Valley School. Anderson said he'd since captured two of the four, and he expects the other two to eventually make it home to Berryton, which is about 10 miles south of Topeka.
