Stoplasmosis is an infection from the stoplasma capsulatum fungus. This is caused by inhaling a spore of fungus. AIDS patients are susceptible this this infection because of their weak immune system.
Histoplasmosis is common among AIDS patients because of their suppressed immunity.3 In immunocompetent individuals, past infection results in partial protection against ill effects if reinfected.
