Reasonable-Suspicion Testing is a process where a supervisor, who observes his or her employees acting in a way that would suggest they were under the influence of alcohol or drugs, can send them immediately for a drug test. Why is that Necessary; Doesn’t Random Testing Cover That? No, Random Testing acts more as a deterrent.

The employees know that they could be called at any time so the idea is that they won’t do drugs or abuse alcohol out of general fear of being caught. Plus, if an employee is showing clear signs of being intoxicated you can’t make a Random Test happen, you have to wait until they are called. Reasonable-Suspicion Testing works immediately, if a problem arises it is dealt with then and there.
