What is the basic definition of cloud computing?

Cloud computing is a fairly new term to me, so I carried out a small investigation with the help of Google. I was not surprised to find loads of information on this, here is one definition that I thought was fairly clear from masterbase. " At least that sounds as though there is no need to have technical knowledge to use this system!

" I found the best definition on howstuffworks.Com, their terminology is a lot more straight forward and it's easier to understand, this is one small section from the most interesting article I read about it, it is well worth reading the entire work.
