General consensus seems to be that it's about writer's block. "When you don't feel it it shows they tear out your soul And when you believe they call it rock and roll" I would say "writer's block" is a pretty good guess -- or more specifically, he seems to be having trouble coming up with something real and important to say in his songwriting. If you try to fake authenticity or genuineness in your music or your lyrics, the critics and (more importantly) the fans/listeners are going to be able to tell, and they'll crucify you for it.
But if you're genuine in your music and message -- when you "believe" -- then you'll be held up as a true "artist.
I think it means that they are over a dry spell of songwriting. Also the title is like how music is loved.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
