My new business opens August 1st, and I'm seeking advice on the best bank to do business with. I DO NOT NEED A LOAN OR CREDIT CARD, AND AM ONLY INTERESTED IN THEIR CHECKING AND SAVINGS FEATURES. Or, alternatively, is a credit union a better route to pursue, especially if my business will be staying local?

Look at LaSalle Bank's Free Small Business Checking account. I hunted for the checking account for my small business (based in IL). Comparing local banks to nationwide chains, and nothing could compare to LaSalle Bank's Free Small Business Checking.

lasallebank.com/small_business/free_chec... No monthly maintenance fee, 500 free transactions, free ATM/debit card. You still pay some fees, but only on certain items that I wasn't going to need very often (rolled coin, special auditing, etc. ) For fees, look at page 4 of lasallebank.com/small_business/pdfs/LSB_... According to their website, LaSalle Bank is available in Florida. I don't know if there's one close to you, they have a sister bank (different name), or it only has "online presence" in Florida.

But given the low/no fees, it's worth checking out (pun not intended! ). Sources: I have a small business checking account here.

Depends on what features are important to you. I've handled banking for several small business. I applaud your desire to stay away from the big banks.

The fees are over-the-top. If you can do most of your banking through the mail (mailing in check with deposit slips) and you don't care about neighborhood service, then go with the local institution (bank or credit union) that has the lowest fees, preferably no fees for checking and good interest rate on savings. Check them out by calling them on the phone and seeing how easy it is to get help through their customer service.

If you like what you hear on the phone, it is an indication of how they will treat you as a customer. If online banking is important to you, see what service they have. I would stay local just to have the back-up of having a local account in the off-chance that you need your institution for some greater service.

Other than that, I'd go with a credit union. Low-headache, they're not trying to sell you anything and there are few if any fees. Good luck.PS I don't think they handle any business accounts, but USAA (usaa.

Com) was always particularly a good institution. Sources: opinion .

Wachovia Bank Great on-line banking service's and have one feature, One Click that lets you go to there site and see all your credit card, mortgage bills, updated daily! Sources: me .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
