When you are growing you hair out it can seem awkward and hard to do. If you are growing your hair out it is best to not have the ends cut unless you really need to. If the ends are dry or brittle, time to cut them.As for specific styles, embrace what you have.
What I mean by that is if you have curly or wavy hair, make it the prettiest wavy or curly hair you can. If your hair is straight, perhaps create a sleek style. For curly hair, shampoo and condition your hair with a deep conditioner.
Towel dry and apply a good mousse. Scruch your hair with your hand and use a blow dryer with a diffuser attached to the end. The diffuser distributes the air more evenly.
For thin hair, towel dry and then blow dry. You can use a brush and straighten your hair as you dry. When done use the flat iron if need be, and then apply a nice serum to seal the ends.
The reason so many of us do not grow our hair out is because of the awkward stage. Our hair does not seem to do anything right. If you have a bad hair day, simply use a scruchie or pull your hair up in an updo.
