For showmanship+talent I would say Peter Gabriel; for sheer size and variety of performers the US Festival May 1983; for warm and intimate+terrific songs, the Marc Cohn show I saw last week; for audience-grabbing power, the Police at the Cow Palace. Now that I think, I've been lucky to attend so many I would have a hard time choosing the best. How about you, do you have an all time best live music performance (not counting video, TV, etc...one you were there for)?

Two shows immediately come to mind. 1) U2 at Madison Square Garden in 9.997. Technically just an amazing show -- from lights to video screens -- just an immersive experience.
And the energy in the Garden was amazing. U2 was in fine form and the crowd was loving it. As Bono said at one point, the roar of the crowd sounded like a 747 taking off.2) Bruce Cockburn (pronounced Co-burn) at the Bottom Line in Manhattan (lower West side).
Unfortunately, not too many people in the U.S. have heard of Bruce Cockburn and it's really too bad because he's a fantastic lyricist and guitar player. He's a bit difficult to categorize -- his style ranges from folk to jazz to rock to country and blues. Three songs of his you might recognize: "If I Had a Rocket Launcher," "Lovers in a Dangerous Time" or "Wondering Where the Lions Are.
" Anyway, the now defunct Bottom Line was a very intimate space -- lots of tables and chairs with a small stage up front. It was the first time I'd seen Bruce Cockburn live and he and his band were just amazing. They absolutely filled the space with sound, had the audience singing along, and just spread good vibes all around.
Both of these shows/performances sent shivers down my spine. There was a connection you felt to the artists, to the sound, to what was being sung, to what was happening around you...I remember walking out of these shows with such a feeling of hope: they energized me. Thanks for listening!

Paul McCartney the best by far Paul McCartney was outstanding, paid a forture for the tickets but well worth it. Rod Stewart, not bad either...
Paul Simon... Hershey Park. The "Rhythm of the Saints" tour. It was fabulous.
For sheer musicality--the audience was multi-generaltional, the extraordinary Brazillian drummers... It was a perfect night, and shen he sang "There's a half-moon hiding in the clouds, my darling," he gestured up, and there it was. Lititz PA's Clare Brothers did the sound, and it was perfect. We had third-row center seats--and weren't blasted out.It was utterly wonderful.
Goosebumps, jkust thinking about it! Sources: Personal opinion, personal experience NancyE's Recommendations The Rhythm of the Saints Amazon List Price: $18.98 Used from: $9.90 Average Customer Rating: 5.0 out of 5 (based on 24 reviews) Incredible night. Just incredible.
Besides my husbands band Which by the way has always drawn a huge crowd. Other than them I would have to say my all time favorite was Widespread Panic. I was pregnant and the show would have been 100 x better if I was not prego, but even being pregnant I had the best time.
Before the show I never enjoyed thier music, but after the show I am a lifetime fan. The crowd is so into the music that you cant help yourself to join in. I have been to many many concerts and never expierenced anything like that.
Everyone must attend atleast one show and find out for yourself. The music is great and the vibe is even better. I love the way they never end a song all the songs flow right into the next.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
