Warm would be the West Coast. Vancouver Victoria Area. Maybe a Magical treat at "Mountain Castle"?
http://christmasatthecastle.ca A train ride through the Mountains on Rocky Mountaineer. Two Days from Vancouver to Banff/Calgary or the Other direction. Could extend your stay in the Interior of BC at your overnight stop.
Usually not to cold but close to the Winter Sports stuff. West Edmonton Mall Fantasy Hotel? And then some time in the Water Park and Indoor Amusement Park.
Maybe you take VIA Rail to get there. Part of a vacation is the journey to get there. You can go Fast by plane or take your time to see some of the things along the way.
You do not just have to go to one resort or city. You DO NOT need to use the same method of transport in both directions. http://www.viarail.ca/en/explore-our-des... https://www.rockymountaineer.com/en_CA_B... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VscT9_hp3ME https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ccr1XFXIwr0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnciKQ0GQnc.
Depends on 1) your interest 2) your location 3) your budget.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
