If there is a crack under the garage door...they may get in to keep warm. I have cats that catch them...I also had live traps and let them out in the woods. Any food/warmth may attract them.

Maybe you will have to move eventually since it may not be possible to stop all mice from entering.

You have to keep trapping them. Home Depot or Lowes has plenty of traps, live traps and otherwise. You can use a little peanut butter to lure them into an enclosed trap or get them onto a glue trap.

As Shasha said, they can squeeze through anything where they can get their heads through, which is very small indeed. You just have to keep catching them.

If you are allowed a cat,that would work,or Traps like DanZee suggested,try to stay away from poisons and if you do use poisons use one that dehidrates them, cause if one gets in or under something and dies will stink to high heaven if you don't use the poison that dehidrates them.

Peppermint oil on cotton balls placed where they are getting in is supposed to help. I did this at my old house and it seemed to work. I've also heard that Bounce sheets used the same way deter mice.

It is really easy for mice to get in under and around door jams. They can also come in from around pipes that lead into the apartment. Mice can chew through ANYTHING, and if they are already in the walls they would be hard to get rid of.

Make sure all doors and frames have a good seal and that all pipes are sealed all the way around where they enter the apartment. There is a foam caulk that you can buy from the hardware store. Spray it around the pipes that come into the unit.

Tackle the outside of the garage too. That is their first point of contact. Make sure there is no high grass, bricks, boards, or any debris that they can live or hide in around the walls outside.

Check for areas outside where they can get up into the wall area between the foundation and the exterior walls. Seal them up with the same spray foam insulation stuff to keep the mice out. If it is a large gap, fill it with crinkled aluminum foil first and then spray the insulation stuff to get a seal.

Put out sticky traps, not poison if treating the outside because you don't want to poison dogs or cats. Inside the garage, they travel on the overhead beams and right into the house where the beams meet the walls or where the pipes come into the house or apartment. Put sticky traps up there on beams and tape them to the pipes.

Add peanut butter as a lure for them to get into the sticky traps. Put rat poison pellets at any place where pipes or beams from the garage enter the house. SEAL AROUND THOSE PIPES..inside and out.

Sound expensive? A little pricey, but living with vermin droppings and urine in your space will make you very ill, could cause brain damage, and could kill you. Your landlord should be exterminating regularly.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
