What is the difference between McCloskey Special Effects Venetian Plaster and older products?

Venetian Plaster is a synthetic acrylic material that handles easier and gives a smoother finish than traditional cement based plasters of old. It is translucent in appearance and can be seen through until built up in thickness. Most applications will be 2-3 separate layers depending on the desired effect.
