Because if you don't build the "ultimate" rig to begin with for $2000, then you'll likely end up "upgrading" an $850 "fast" rig to keep up with the friends with the "ultimate" rig. You usually end up spending more money in the end and you have equipment that's not being used so it's sold and money is usually lost on that deal. I've learned long ago that you should wait until you can buy exactly the item(s) you want in the first place, and not settle for something less because you can save a few bucks in the beginning or can't wait for the best parts to become available to use, before you get whatever item you want.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
