NOT the easiest of journeys and other people will have different ways of doing it. I would take a train from Nottingham to Derby. Then a train from Derby to Glasgow (you might need to change at Edinburgh).
Now it starts getting problematical. You could arrive in one of two main line stations in Glasgow. The through trains will arrive at Glasgow Central, from where you will need to take inter-station bus service 398 (free if you have a through train ticket) to Glasgow Queen Street.
If you had to change trains at Edinburgh, you should arrive at Glasgow Queen Street. From Glasgow Queen Street, you take the train to Oban. It is now getting difficult because there are only three trains a day (0821, 1238 and 1821).
At Oban walk from the railway station to the ferry pier. Ferries to Craignure used to be every two hours - you will need to check this for yourself. More.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
