I have a couple suggestions for you, as someone who really discovered Simon & Garfunkel big-time back in 1999-ish. 1. "Homeward Bound" - I have to recommend this anthems to you because of its uplifting and uptempo feel, and wonderful beat.2."I Am a Rock" - Also a really powerful anthem, but more for the angry bitter soul.
When I'm mad at the world this song gets cranked on my IPod. Love it.3."The Boxer" - No real emotional connection to this song, it's just plain catchy.4. "Scarborough Fair" - Now HERE is a song you absolutely have to develop a taste for, but it really is brilliant once you pull it apart and appreciate it.
One voice sings the old childrens nursery rhyme "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme" while the other sings an anti-war song called "Canticle". The pairing of the two melodies is poetic and beautiful. You won't rock out to this song, but it's a very special musical work.
SO WHICH OF THESE IS THE MOST UNDERRATED? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm going with "I Am a Rock" for its ability to guide me through those really angry days and allowing me to vent some real emotion. A wonderful, catchy song.
And it never gets much attention because it isn't especially poetic or innovative...and wasn't ever featured on American Idol eye roll. ;).
Try Old Friends/bookends I like this song. It makes you think. Plus it was not real popular.
But it is a great song. rhapsody.com/simonandgarfunkel/old-frien....
For Emily, Wherever I May Find Her". I don't remeber which album it was on but it is a beautiful solo by Garfunkel.
I've always loved Mrs.Robinson..but Bridge Over Troubled Water has been a favorite for a long time too..

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
