In addition to the multiple story lines, Callenbach includes factual information about the country's history with natural preservation. Lou Swift is a young science wiz who is working on a way to create energy through the use of solar cells.

Her goal is to be able to have the "normal person" creat and make these cells on their own. She is successful in spite of the F.B.I.'s and multiple other groups efforts to destroy her cells. Lou joins the Survivalist Party, lead by Vera Allwen.

These people are a group based on the princples, or ten commandments they have conjured together. The group stays true to the principles throughout the book and have got enough support to the point where their names are known, and Vera has a sort of fireside chats with her television viewers.In time, the Survivalists have grown tired of regular American life and decide to secede from the continental US and make their own world called Ecotopia, where everyone hugs trees and rides bikes. The Ecoptopians live happily ever after and the rest of the country has problems.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
