Just because it's in the Judeo/Christian Book of Myths doesn't make it fact. Any idiot can say "god told me that we need to kill these people.
God makes this very clear, it was to cleanse the land and in doing so remove the evil influence that those people would have over Israel. Notice that they failed to do this and so were screwed over repeatedly by those same people groups. It seems like God knew what he was talking about.
These were not nice innocent people, they had attacked the Hebrews before and engaged in despicable practices like infant sacrifices. The whole culture was horribly corrupted and evil and so God enacted judgment and ordered the land cleansed.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
