What is the power of the State of Michigan unemployment division to collect on restitution?

The state cannot seize his land, home or car. The state will take any future (within 5 years as I recall) Michigan income tax refund to which he may become entitled and 20% of any future unemployment benefits for which he may become eligible. Recently the UIA began charging 1% per month interest on money owed in restitution.

If ever he is employed again, his goal is to pay and get rid of it, but at this time it looks very unlikely he will be able to do anything about it in the next 5 years or so. I appreciate your input, it's a terrible position he's in.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
