If so there is 2 kinds one is a clip on that simply goes around the wire that you are wanting to check amps on. One other goes in line you will need to find a junction or cut the wire current goes in one side of the meter reads amps then out the other. With out loss of current.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
