Jeez, what a load of crappy info. Brackish isn't all that salty, just one to four tablespoons of freshwater aquarium salt to ten gallons of water , it's almost nothing compared to a real saltwater tanks which has a cup or so of salt per 10 gallon. All your fish will be ok with it as long as you don't add it all at once.
Just put one tablespoon per ten gallon in every week until you have 3 or 4 per 10 gallon. Then add a little when you do water changes, but not too much , only base your salt needs on the amount of water you TOOK OUT of the tank for your water change. Don't add salt to water you add to make up for evaporation.
Again, the idiot with half a century worth of crap just hit the fan. First, I would like to answer your question directly, pleco does not tolerate salt very well. Now, onto the salt.
You can't just add any salt at any amount. 1, the salt in your kitchen stay in your kitchen. It should never go into your aquarium.
2, aquarium salt are the kind you use for fresh water fish. Follow the direction on the box, and it is relatively safe. I wouldn't trust the direction 100%.
For some species, I double the amount, for other, I use half. Almost all fish will benefit from aquarium salt, the exception would be tetras, they don't do well in aquarium salt. 3, marine salt is the kind you use for salt water tank and brackish tank.
Your puffer can be SLOWLY acclimated to fresh water, or full marine. The keyword is SLOWLY. But if they're already doing well in your tank, don't mess with it.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
