Now THAT is a dirty little secret! You da girl! I'm so happy to hear a SMART question!

It increases the money supply, which is what we call? Inflationary. The fed buying treasury bills is exactly like using a pawn shop.

Yeap, you are getting 100 bucks BUT you owe 125 bucks. Still though at this moment in time you have a new, fresh, hundo to go out and buy beer and cigs with. The higher the demand for beer and cigs, the more prices rise on the same, and the hundo is worth?

LESS! It's inflationary. Good question!

THANKS! Asia, china, benefit because our dollar is worth? LESS.

Interest rates can't get any lower. Also, something has happened in this economy that I feel is static. Most of the lost jobs arent coming back.

There isnt any room for dynamic change here. Manufacturing is dead. The green energy thing is still kind of a pipe dream and maybe nothing but a make work program.

But the bottom line is the housing market. And now it appears that's going to be frozen and locked up in the courts for a few years while people figure out what happened. I don't know why we didn't cross this bridge two years ago but here we are in the courts.

Spending on infra structure is a damn good idea but the truth is that industry doenst need guys with shovels anymore. It's not labor intensive like it used to be. Big fancy machines do it all.

I'm not sure what the answer is other than to unleash the beast of american free enterprise. Maybe gov regulators should shut and and labor unions should just go to their rooms so we can all go back to work? Maybe.......

1. This is how they (the government, Treasury, and Federal Reserve) control the supply of money. They sell out bonds to decrease the money supply and buy up bonds to increase the money supply.

2. Printing money leads to inflation. Bonds are being printed so that they can manipulate the money supply more effectively (so they say).

3. Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke fears that we may begin to see deflation. This will greatly hurt the economy because why would you buy today when you can buy cheaper tomorrow?

If they can increase the money supply (by buying up bonds) they can make money easier to get. I also expect Bernanke and co. To reduce the interest rate during the next Board of Governors' meeting.

I agree with Libertarian groups that we should just abolish the Fed. Monetary policy is best left to the free market.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
