What is the root cause of Global Warming -- Greenhouse Gases, Bad Lifestyle or Lack of Money?

I don't think we're being told the whole truth about global warming. I think that the changes in weather patterns are normal and not to be feared. Not that long ago we were being warned about a new ice age.

Many of those protesting in the streets are not old enough to remember this.

There is much over which man has no control. Huge volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and other natural events could have significant impacts on the climate.

However, I do agree that we need to reduce the garbage we put into the air if only because it's the air we breathe.

I agree with Ramsa1. The answer to your question is: None of the above. Please do not read my hub on the subject, because I'm not as polite as you are, and you may be offended at my directness.

Anyway, all of the Global Warming Alarmist claims of the 21st Century are 100% pure garbage. In the 1980s and 1990s, there was a fairly robust warming trend. That trend peaked and then died in 1998, according to the satellite data.

Since then, there's been no discernible trend in either direction.

There are no honest mistakes here. There's been a lot of flat-out lying on the part of people who do not deserve to be called scientists. The politics are complicated and ugly.

We live in an imperfect world. Please do not make the mistake of assuming that everyone is as honorable as you are. Jumping on the Anthropogenic Global Warming bandwagon would be a huge waste of your precious time.

Contrary to popular belief, the world is always going through warming and cooling trends. We could create zero pollution and we would still have a warming trend. 90% of global warming information is nothing but a media blitz to make some people look important and to make a lot of people a lot of money.

Yes we pollute way too much but that's different. It sickens me when I think of what is being dumped into our oceans and waterways but it isn't what is causing global warming.

Thanks faceless39 for the link on HAARP. Whether warfare, if true, is another example of using scientific knowledge for destructive purposes. Talks revolving only around greenhouse gas emissions is far too narrow and the UN conferences on this topic are unlikely to solve any problem on the ground.

Probably more damaging than CO2 or methane emissions is the global mental pollution that allows misuse of science for negative applications. I fail to understand why mutual skepticism and mistrust should govern the world politics, negating all the wonderful knowledge of technological advances.

The science is quite clear. Scientific measurements have established beyond any doubt that man made greenhouse gases are contributing to global warming. The climate at any given time is the product of natural forces beyond our control and man made emissions which have been increasing since the beginning of the industrial revolution from coal fired power plants, motor vehicles and other sources.

The unpredictable natural forces in the future may reinforce the effects of greenhouse gas emissions, they may cancel out the effect of emissions or they may overpower the man made emissions and return us to another ice age. This is impossible to predict. The measurements of warming are sufficient that prudence requires that we should be concerned and start taking action to reduce harmful emissions and prepare to adapt to a warmer planet.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
