This hair pulling usually result to bald patches in the affected areas. The urge to pull out hair from their bodies can be mild in some people, but could also be severe and overwhelming in others.
There is no known cause of Trichotillomania, but it has been linked to a combination of genetic, environmental, neurological factors. Trichotillomania does not have a particular treatment, but a combination of treatments has shown to work for some people suffering from this disorder. It has also been shown that a treatment that works for one patient might not be effective for another.
One of the drugs used in the combination treatment includes antidepressants, but it is more effective when used together with behavior therapy.
