Sadness is not being aware of the simple joys in life that happen everyday, big or small they happen.
Sadness can ultimately be defined as a great loss and is the grievance over the loss of something or someone in which we care about/for passionately or bears great importance, if not our own, then someone else's.
Sadness is an emotion that is driven by our sense of loss of something that we did not believe that we could live without. P.S. I really have to stop this.
Sadness is a tool that allows me to measure happiness.
Sadness is recollecting, recalling or remembering what you once had and knew was good.
Sadness is something that's beyond happiness ;).
For a person without depression, sadness is an emotion that we feel after a loss or (sometimes with me) realization or (stretching it a bit here) experiencing events that induce sadness. Sometimes when I hear about war, or death, or inhumanity it makes me sad. There have been recent events in the Hmong history that make me sad.
