I'll admit I'm a Barry snob (although I secretly like some of his songs I'll only admit it under pain of death in public). However, I have always liked "I made it through the rain. " (See Video 1) Maybe because my book was originally supposed to be titled "Rain before Rainbows," which is still the title for my website.
I also liked Mandy, but prefer Westlife's version of it and I loved Manilow's appearance on Murphy Brown (which may be where I learned to be a Manilow snob). (See Video 2) Oh, and everytime I hear Manilow I remember Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart presenting at the Emmy's (See Video 3).
No, there is not. While it only made it to the eighth spot on "Billboard's" Top 40, it is a perennial hit and helped Manilow win his first Grammy for the record "Even Now" in 1979.
Though I too love "Copacabana," I have a soft spot for "Looks Like We Made It" as well. youtube.com/watch?v=cIcqUokPiTw.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
