Graham crackers and peanut butter Either pack them separately for spreading with a plastic knife, or pack them as a sandwich (if you will). It's a tasty, dessert-like snack that has a good ol' bit of nutrition packed in. Or in some cases could even work as a main course!(although the really health-conscious might frown at this).Yummmmmmm.... Mmmmm, lamb sandwich Forget deli meat. My wife takes a boneless lamb leg and butterflies it. She rubs it with garlic, salt, and pepper, and we grill it until the meat is tender inside, slightly charred outside.
That's dinner. Next day is even better. She slices it and puts it on a sandwich with a little mayo and some cheese.
Lamb is fantastic for this because it has texture and flavor that deli meats lack, you'll never FIND it in the deli, and it tastes even better the second day. It's also inexpensive, surprisingly. Usually people go for lamb chops or rack, which is pricey and has very little meat and a lot of fat to pick around.
The leg gets short shrift, but it has much more meat on it and it's easier to cut and eat. It takes a long time to cook normally, and makes a poor roast unless it's very well prepared. But, when butterflied, it cooks quickly and self-bastes.
The garlic adds some flavor, and you have a winner! .
