You have to bear in mind that this is greenie accounting. They will perform some magic calculation and come up with a big number. They will then convert that big number, which was in gigatonnes of CO2, into another one, which will be in euros.
My bet is that the French government will then pay it to themselves. When Climate Change was a religion they used to call it "Indulgences".
This conference is not about boasting what we have done but about deciding what to do. Unfortunately, it's too late to just reduce our CO2 emissions, even if every country completely stopped their industry, we've just waited too much. We will now have to find ways to remove CO2 from the atmosphere while also emitting infinitely less than we do today.
And that's not even to reverse the pollution effects, that's just to limit it to a supportable degree. So world leaders better come out of this conference with solid resolutions.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
