On "Ok. So apparently there is Hannah Montana cherries now? This is getting crazy!6:02 PM Aug 14th from UberTwitter.
My opinion.... this type of marketing works on a few different levels. Kids want stuff that is associated with people they like. Heck, it's not just kids... I'd totally buy a Jeff Hoard bobble head for my desk.In fact, put me down for a 3 pack spring loaded Mahalo employees... I'd love to watch Jeff, Lon and Jason bobble along as I compose answers!
Parents like to buy their kids things that they like. So, when the kid sees the cherries and says "Hanna Montana?!? ", the parent instinctively wants to give their child what they want.
Cherries, like many fruits and vegetables are a healthy and delicious snack. They're easy to prepare, keep fresh for a long time and easily fit inside of a lunch bag. Busy parents like convenience.
Those plastic bags are inexpensive to print on. Their size is also standardized so that a few select distributors can cater to the needs of many farms and distribution centers. Add all of these things together and you have an inexpensive way to promote a product (or person) without the requirement of changing packaging procedures.
This form of marketing is becoming very popular. Not just for questionable Disney stars, but importantly for private label in-store brands themselves. There was a supermaket revolution a few years back that led to full scale distribution of private label merchandise.
This is the next step. Private label merchandise that accepts sponsorships from independent brands. When taken in the context of Cherries, the sexually charged relationship that Hanna Montana has with the media, this does seem a little funny if not odd or perhaps inappropriate.
However, when taken at face value, it's just a company trying to force a brand further into North American homes.
Its almost a crime the innuendic merchandising this Miley Cyrus and her Hanna Montana alter-ego are engaging in. After all you can have Hanna Montana for breakfast everyday. Really makes me wonder what exactly the motive is.
Whatever the motive is the whole project seems harmful to me. Creepy is an understatement. Read this article from associatedcontent.com/article/2065149/ha... Associated Content apparently Disney will be teaming up with McDonalds offering the cherries in Happy Meals.
Very clever Jeff (okay, maybe I'm kidding?) I don't like it. It's stupid. Maybe it works well with t shirts, stickers, etc.But food is going way too far.
Especially with sexual innuendo and a 16 year old girl. I had the hardest time figuring out who "Hannah Montana" was, first time I saw the concept. I didn't realize it was "A girl named Miley Cyrus" with a totally different hair color.
Too many young girls follow this fad like lemings over a cliff. Mindlessly buying merchandise and wishing they could be movie stars and rock stars, just like Hannah. Very sad.
Internet news abounds: http://www.doseofgossip.com/?p=191 http://www.postchronicle.com/news/business/article_212251154.shtml http://www.huliq.com/3257/84965/hannah-montana-cherries-just-plain-bad-taste http://www.postchronicle.com/news/original/article_212251157.shtml Is it a joke and a parody like Bush's Baked Beans? Truly, I still can't believe it is for real?! Parody below
Yes it is real and they use the hannah montana as a way to advertise the cherries that way they get more commercial stock it is actually a good idea especially in a place like disney land where there are many who consider hannah montana as there idol.
Wow, just plain wow. Well if it gets kids to eat healthy, more power to Disney, though maybe they should have used something other than cherries. Reminds me of the marketing I grew up with as a kid in the 80's: Nintendo cereal, Slimer -C (I miss that honestly), TMNT pudding pies, C-3P0 and R2-D2 cereal, etc.
According to me:- why you take so much tension about these products. Just cheer up and enjoy these Cherries. ;) Its ok that you want to know that is it real or not.
But answer of this question only knows the owner of the Cherries. So enjoy the Cherries. These are really delicious.
:).
This product marketing is getting ridiculous. Celebrities will put their name and picture on anything and people buy it. I don't blame them for trying to make money.
I actually blame the consumers. If the consumers wouldn't buy it then this kind of thing wouldn't be increasing. It is mainly driven by kids and teenagers.
They want to buy anything associated with pop stars or disney stars so the companies think well if they will buy it then why not capitalize on that. We as a society need to wise up and figure out that the control is in our hands. I personally don't buy anything just based on brands or endorsers.
I buy strictly based on what I need, what fits that need at the price that fits my budget. It is the same thing with the grocery stores. Why would I buy a brand item over a kroger item when ultimately I am getting the same thing.
Sometimes the brand items are double the kroger price. A lot f that is because of packaging and marketing and endorsement fees. So I choose not to reward that and I save a lot of money that way.
But seriously is disney or miley sirus growing these cherries if it is real? I even saw dog food the other day with Rachel Rays picture on it. That was weird to me.
Its just a marketing ploy for young kids. This will make any little girl who loves hannah montana ask for red cherries even if they hat them or have never tried them.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
