What jobs or careers can you get into with an associate degree in criminal justice?

MY 21-YEAR OLD DAUGHTER JUST COMPLETED THIS DEGREE AND IT SEEMS WORTH ABOUT AS MUCH AS A PIECE OF TOILET PAPER! WE LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN, WITH THE SAME OLD COPS, SAME OLD DEPUTIES, BLAH BLAH BLAH. I hate to tell you that that degree is not worth the paper it's written on, IMO My husband has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He tried for years to get a good job with his degree. He has recently gone back to school and gotten his teaching certificate and is now teaching 3rd grade.

He just felt that Criminal Justice jobs were dead end for him. It seems that in law enforcement, who you know is more important than your credentials. Good luck!.

2 I don't think your degree being in Criminal Justice is the problem; it's the value in general of an Associate's degree today. Actually, my husband is a police chief with only an Associates degree (plus years of experience and additional specialized training over the years)! But times have changed since he first started working in the criminal justice field.

Most "better" jobs nowadays are looking for someone with a bachelor or graduate degree. You will find something, depending on your skills, attitude, and abilities, etc; but don't stop your education--a bachelor degree will open many more opportunities. Besides that, one person answering here doesn't really mean that's what everyone experiences.

You might get a great job, if you are really lucky, with only a high school diploma, for the right person at the right place! .

3 I just got my associates in Criminal Justice and I am working for the State now. Also, you can get a job with the FBI or SBI with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice. I guess it depends on where you live.

4 I have been an LE for 4 years, I have a HS Diploma. An associates in Criminal Justice is almost worthless. It will get you certificate pay which amounts to $50 a month at my URL1 may get you some consideration during the hiring process but you could have used that two years of schooling to apply to more places and you would already have 2 years experience which is worth about 10000 times more than a CJ Degree.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
